Frequently Asked Question
Which service do I need — Inspect, Test, Map or Measure?
As a rule of thumb: Inspect (condition and defects), Test (NDT such as PPR/corrosion integrity), Map (location and geometry to PAS 128 workflows), Measure (alignment, ovality and tolerances). We’ll recommend the mix that meets your objectives and site constraints.
Can you work in live assets without shutdowns?
Yes. We inspect and survey in dry, partially surcharged and fully surcharged conditions, handling live flows up to 6 m/s subject to site safety.
What diameters and distances can you cover?
We survey 100–10,000 mm diameters and can exceed 7 km with tethered systems where access allows.

How do you decide which technologies to use?
We scope the environment and goals, then select from HD-CCTV, LiDAR, photogrammetry, sonar, IMS, PPR and other NDT techniques to match the conditions.
What deliverables will we receive?
Engineer-ready reports, HD video, drawings and 3D outputs (point clouds, BIM or mesh), geo-located and ready to integrate with your models. We agree formats at scoping to fit your CAD/GIS/BIM workflows.
Are your underground mapping surveys PAS 128 compliant?
Yes — our mapping workflows are PAS 128 compliant with survey-grade, measurable outputs.
Can we view and direct surveys remotely?
Yes — we provide live-stream viewing so stakeholders can monitor progress and request additional coverage in real time.
How do you minimise manned entry and manage safety?
We take a robotic-first approach and produce robust RAMS, eliminating routine manned entry wherever possible.
Where do you work and how quickly can you mobilise?
We’re based in Harlow, Essex and support clients across the UK and internationally. Mobilisation depends on scope and access — contact us and we’ll confirm dates.
How do we get a quote?
Email info@tunnelvisionsurveys.com or call +44 (0)845 2300180 (24 hrs). We’ll scope the work and confirm the right service mix.
