Measure

Advanced Subsurface Surveying

Through our partnerships with world-class companies, we deliver clients highly accurate, survey-grade modelling details.

These models allow for precise dimension and size extrapolation, with outputs available in any format required, including BIM, 3D Point Cloud, or Mesh, all of which can be geo-located for accurate integration into larger systems.

By leveraging LiDAR, SLAM technology, photogrammetry, and sonar logging, we can measure underground pipes, tunnels, aqueducts, subterranean chambers, and reservoirs under a variety of conditions—whether dry, partially surcharged, surcharged, pressurized, or containing flowing or static water. Our technology ensures precise measurements across any distance and diameter with repeatable millimeter-level accuracy.

Utilising LiDAR for 3-axis measurements, we achieve millimeter precision, with subsequent surveys detecting structural changes with accuracy down to 1mm. Our approach combines data from multiple disciplines, including laser scanning, inertial motion sensing technology (IMS), and sonar, to deliver detailed and reliable measurements.

This advanced technology eliminates the need for manned entry, offering a safer and more efficient solution for our clients. We provide detailed, measurable survey-grade models, which can be extrapolated and integrated into a 3D Point Cloud for further analysis and application.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Question

What does your “Measure” service cover?

High-precision measurement of tunnels, pipes and chambers for alignment, ovality, tolerances, deformation and clearance envelopes.

We use 3-axis LiDAR with controlled calibration to achieve millimetre-level precision; repeat surveys can detect changes down to ~1 mm under comparable conditions.

Dry, partially surcharged, fully surcharged and pressurised assets, including those with flowing or static water.

LiDAR, SLAM, photogrammetry, sonar logging and Inertial Motion Sensing (IMS) to maintain accuracy over long, GNSS-denied runs.

Normally no. We’re robotic-first and our methods do not rely on GNSS for underground work.

Yes — we create a repeatable baseline and provide comparative reports showing movement or wear between surveys.

3D point clouds (LAS/LAZ), meshes, BIM/IFC, DWG/DXF and GIS-ready data, plus drawings and a tolerance/QA report.

Any diameter within your portfolio; we commonly work from 100–10,000 mm with tethered reach >7 km where access allows.

Yes — remote live-view lets stakeholders monitor and request targeted re-runs during the survey.

We’re based in Harlow, Essex and support clients across the UK and internationally.
