About Tunnel Vision

What we do and how we do it

Founded in the early 1980s, our company has built a legacy of innovation and unparalleled customer satisfaction. From the beginning, we have been driven by a commitment to client support.

One of our pioneering achievements was the design, construction, and operation of the first robotic Pipe Inspection Vehicle (PIV), capable of a 1km excursion range to survey potable water aqueducts both above and below water.

Today, we remain a global leader in acquiring essential asset condition data from underground infrastructure, regardless of depth, size, or distance. Our multi-disciplinary approach ensures thorough and accurate assessments, utilising advanced technologies such as LiDAR, laser, sonar, radar, Pipe Penetrating Radar (PPR) and non-destructive testing (NDT). We leave nothing to chance and ensure every detail is captured.

As always, we remain committed to continuous improvement by embracing the latest technologies and adopting industry best practices.

We never lose sight of the fact that without our valued clients we would not have a business and this remains the driving force behind our focus on client support.

Frequently Asked Question

Who are Tunnel Vision and what do you specialise in?

We’re a specialist team focused on acquiring reliable asset-condition data from underground infrastructure so engineers can make safe, confident decisions.

We pioneered the first robotic Pipe Inspection Vehicle (PIV) with a 1 km excursion range and we continue to innovate with advanced robotic systems that reduce routine manned entry.

LiDAR, laser, sonar, radar, Pipe Penetrating Radar (PPR), HD-CCTV, Inertial Motion Sensing (IMS) and other NDT techniques—selected to match site conditions.

Yes. We inspect in dry, partially surcharged and fully surcharged assets, handling live flows up to 6 m/s subject to site safety.

We survey diameters from 100–10,000 mm and can exceed 7 km with tethered systems where access allows.

We prioritise robotic deployment and rigorous planning so routine manned entry is eliminated wherever possible.

Engineer-ready reports, HD video, drawings and 3D outputs (point clouds, BIM or mesh), all geo-located and ready to integrate with your models.

Yes. Stakeholders can live-stream and direct surveys in real time.

Water and wastewater, hydro-electric, civil engineering contractors, consulting engineers and plant owners—across the UK and internationally.

Yes. Recent recognition includes The Pipeline Industries Guild – Award Winner 2025 (Utility Pipeline Technology) and Project Excellence Awards – Management of Health, Safety and Environmental Risk (Winners), plus Finalist in Innovation.
